How time flies!!

I am soooo late on getting a new post out there. I thought I better do it now before Maddox is a year old...LOL I can't believe how little free time I have now and this is with just one child. My hat is off to those ladies who have tackled life with more than one kid. Well, I celebrated my first Mother's Day this year. Maddox bought me new tables for the living room. I know that sounds like a strange gift but it's what I wanted. Then Donnie surprised me with dinner at Wasabi while Maddox spent the day with Grammy. It was really nice and I can't wait to see what next year brings.
Maddox is still growing like a little weed. He learns something new every day. He usually comes home from the sitter's with a new sound which is so cute. But last week he learned how to spit...not so cute! I really hope he gets over that really quick. But he's been doing great except for the lovely virus called Hand, Foot and Mouth. If your child has never had this, count your blessings. He was absolutley miserable and so were Donnie and I for about a week. I had him at the Dr on a Friday for his 9 month check up and two days later he woke up with a rash all over him. He cried, I cried...it was horrible for everyone. On Monday we took him back to the Dr and that's when he found the blisters inside his mouth and possibly in his throat. He got blisters around the outside of his mouth (but we thought that was from drooling) but he never got them on his feet or hands. But he did have a couple on his legs. The really sad thing is they can't do anything for it. All we could do was give him Ibuprofen regularly and spray his mouth with a numbing agent like Chloraseptic. That really seemed to help. Thank goodness that's overwith. But he did give it to his girlfriend Kelsey. I thought they may break up over that but they're still together. But other than the bout with hand, foot and mouth everyone has been great. Maddox is finally crawling on all fours and let me tell you...he can move! He is so much fun now and I'm loving every second of it. Also, every chance we get, we hit the lake. I was worried that Maddox wouldn't like it but turns out he loves it. The life jacket is less than comfy but he tolerates it very well. We get him suited up, then on go the shades (which he likes) and it's down the river we go. Today we hit Blue Springs after church for a great lunch and Maddox flirted with every waitress that walked by and they flirted right back. He was definitely the entertainer and center of attention there today. Well, I guess I've rambled on long enough. Hopefully I can get back on track and keep the posts coming.

Maddox just chillin in the grass

I think this was Memorial Day weekend on the lake
