Aunt Cheryl lounging with a sleepy Maddox!

Maddox with his Great Aunt Kate!

Once again I am way behind on posting. Funny how you no longer have all that spare time with a baby around. Anyway, Maddox is almost 4 months old now and has started rolling over (from tummy to back). He rolled over for Donnie first and I thought maybe he was just falling over but he finally rolled over for me and it's definitely a roll! And he is jabbering more than ever...so cute!

We took Maddox on his first road trip over Thanksgiving weekend to visit with my Alabama family. This was the first time that any of them have seen Maddox other than pictures. It was a great trip! It was only a 4 hr drive but Maxx slept the entire way down and would have slept the entire way back had we not decided to stop in Lebanon and do a little Christmas shopping. He was such a great little traveler. Anyway, it was exciting because Maddox got to meet his Grandpa Hugh, Grandma Brenda, Aunt Cheryl, Uncle Scott and Aunt Danielle, cousins Josh and Megan and Uncle Chip. As well as great aunts Kate and Elaine. First words from the grandparents...he looks just like Donnie!!! I was really glad we were able to go...my brother Scott is a Major in the Air Force and he will be going to Afghanistan in January so I'm very thankful for being able to see him before he leaves. And I'd like to ask all of you to please keep him and his family in your prayers as he goes off to serve once again.

Today after church we decided to head to Knoxville and go to the Fantasy of Trees...it was so nice. Maddox was a great little guy today too as we walked around the very crowded paths and enjoyed all the awesome trees that were decorated. And we had a lot of photo ops so I've added those pics as well. If you've never been to the Fantasy of Trees...I highly recommend going.

Well, I do hope that everyone got out and cast their vote today for our next president. And I do hope that everyone voted with their heart and kept their Christian morals in mind.

Anyway...I think Maddox may be going through a growth spurt this week. He's not been much fun because he's been sleeping A LOT! But when he is awake he is talking our ears off...LOL. I just love the cooing that babies make...so sweet! He's also beginning to hold things if you place them in his hand. By the way Amanda...he loves Eli's little puppy squeaker!! You guys left it here Saturday night and Nikki - I have the lid to Sailor's sippy cup as well :)

This past weekend Donnie took some great pics of Maddox and his cousin Maggie. Here is a sampling as well as some random pics I had including his 1st Halloween costume (and party), his 2nd trip to Church and his cousins Tyler and Brady who love him very much and of course cousin Noah.

2 Month Check Up

On Monday, Maddox had his 2 month check up with Dr. James. I was very nervous because I knew he would be getting 4 shots and Donnie was going to handle this all on his own. But, turns out that Maddox was a big boy and cried just a few seconds. He got lucky and only had to get stuck twice...they have combined 3 of the vaccines into 1 so that was a plus. He did, however, have a bad evening and was still feeling bad the next day at Miss Pam's. But she took great care of him...we just love her!!!
Anyway here are his latest stats:
weight 11.4 lbs - 50%
head 40 cm - 50%
length 22 1/2 - 30%...gonna be tall like his daddy..LOL

Here are a few of his latest photos.

Back to work!!

Today was my first day back at work. So far, that's the hardest thing I've had to do since being a mom and I'm sure there will be many more but we won't think about that right now.We packed up his swing and pack n play and some toys and off to Miss Pam's he went. I cried all morning and finally dried my tears when we pulled in the parking lot at work. After I went in, I was fine. And I didn't call once to check on him. I was afraid if I did that I would start blubbering again so I just left work and raced to pick him up. I knew he was in great hands.
Pam came as such a blessing when her husband told Donnie last week that she was interested in keeping Maddox. They live 5 minutes from us and we pass their house on our way to work every day. So, rather than drive to the other side of Kingston to my mom's (grammy's) we decided to go to Pam Fowler's. She's great and they are a wonderful Christian family. He is the only baby so he's getting all the attention. I just hope she doesn't spoil him too bad...LOL
But work was not too bad...thank goodness. I certainly had enough on my mind. Thanks everyone for calling and checking on us this evening to see how things went. I also want to say thanks to Amanda and Eli & Susan, Mitchell and Noah for coming to visit before I returned to work and for the great Enchilada's and thanks to Angie and my sister Kris for bringing us dinner as well... We love you all!!!

Anyway, here are a few new pics of Maddox, cousin Noah Oh, and one of his sister Gabby who thought she was being sneaky when she stole his passy...LOL She's so funny.

ONE MONTH OLD!!

I'm very late on getting this new post out there but I don't have to tell you mom's how hectic life is after baby. It can be down right CRAZY, but so worth it. Well, on Sept 11, Maddox was a month old...yep, already! It seems like only yesterday that we were welcoming him into our lives. I cannot believe how quickly time passes. I am getting closer and closer to having to return to work...I really dread that but one thing that helps is knowing that my mom will be taking care of him until December...then he will start daycare :(

Anyway, here are a few new pics of Mr. Maddox. He's changing so much and is now up to a whopping 10 lbs and Dr James says he's very well proportioned and in the 60 percentile...good job Maddox!

Amanda...we sort of stole your method of measuring his length (great idea). I love laying him next to his big Teddy and seeing how he grows. Enjoy the pics!

Happy B-day Sailor!!

Saturday Maddox attended his first birthday party for his friend Sailor. We had such a great time even though Maddox slept through part of it but I think he stayed awake long enough to make a new friend...Addison Richards. What a doll she is!! Thanks for having us over, Nikki... you did a great job on the decorations!! But I cannot believe she's a year old already...time flies doesn't it?

Here are a few pics that we took of all the kids including cousin Noah and good friends Eli and Cole...enjoy!!

Well, today is my first day alone with Maddox. Donnie finally had to return to work and it was such a sad morning for me. I think it was hard for Donnie to leave us too but I don't think he would admit it...LOL

Maddox is a whole week old today and I cannot believe how much that little guy has changed already. I just cannot stop staring at him and admiring him...he is so precious. So, far he has been the best baby...he wakes up around 2 am to eat then again around 6. I hope he continues like this but I'm not going to get my hopes up :) This is probably one of those cases where if you have a great first baby... you better stop there because you may pay for it on the next child...LOL

Anyway...I just wanted to post some new pics of my little man.

Isn't life wonderful??!!

Maddox's arrival

Well, tonight is the last night Donnie and I will spend as just a married couple with 2 dogs. Baby Maddox is scheduled to make his entrance in the morning at 7:30!! We are really excited but I have had a bad case of the nerves today as well. But thanks to Amanda...I feel much better. She couldn't have come by at a better time today and the encouraging words and hug from a great friend just made things so much better :) Thanks Amanda!!! Keep that shoulder handy because I may need it again in the near future as Maddox, Donnie and I all try to adjust.
Anyway...we do have our phone list ready and we will begin calling/emailing first thing in the morning when he arrives. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers and we can't wait for Maddox to meet everyone.
Guess I will go...we have to get up early and be at the hospital at 5:30 in the morning so I better try to get a couple of hours of sleep...yeah right!!

We should have plenty of pics to post tomorrow...stay tuned!!!!!

Well baby Maddox will be arriving very soon so I've been told that I have to start a blog now. I've been a blog surfer for a while now but it's my turn to share some stories and pics.

I'm at week 34 now and the doc wants Maddox to be here at week 38. So, we've been scrambling to get things ready for him because that's only 4 weeks!!! Went back to the Dr today and she is pleased wiht the way things are progressing. He has been in the head down position for a few weeks now and she said he is moving on down nicely. I cannot wait until he gets here but I am definitley going to miss feeling him move around inside my belly :( But he will keep me busy, I'm sure so I won't have much time to think about that.

There are some of you who haven't seen the baby's room yet so I thought I would start my blog off with pics of all of Donnie's hard work. I'm so proud of him...he did an awesome job. Actually these pics don't show the nursery completed...Shannon and Thomas made some great nautical canvas drawings for us that hang over the changing table and we put Maddox's name in white letters above his crib. It's so cute!
