Oh my goodness!!! I cannot believe it's now 2 weeks 'til Thanksgiving and I'm just now back to blogging. So much has gone on since my last post (in June)!! We celebrated Maddox's first birthday with all his friends and fam; we went to the beach with my mom and Chad and Tiff, Maddox had his first hair cut by Tiff, mom and dad went on a zip line...sooo cool, we (mom and dad) joined our friends in ATL for some PGA action (which was Donnie's Father's Day gift from Maxx) and we have done Halloween for kids and adults...WHEW!! So, since there was soooo much that went on these past few months I'm just posting some pics. Hopefully things will slow down just a bit so I can sit down and do a real post soon!
Stay tuned....

How time flies!!

I am soooo late on getting a new post out there. I thought I better do it now before Maddox is a year old...LOL I can't believe how little free time I have now and this is with just one child. My hat is off to those ladies who have tackled life with more than one kid. Well, I celebrated my first Mother's Day this year. Maddox bought me new tables for the living room. I know that sounds like a strange gift but it's what I wanted. Then Donnie surprised me with dinner at Wasabi while Maddox spent the day with Grammy. It was really nice and I can't wait to see what next year brings.
Maddox is still growing like a little weed. He learns something new every day. He usually comes home from the sitter's with a new sound which is so cute. But last week he learned how to spit...not so cute! I really hope he gets over that really quick. But he's been doing great except for the lovely virus called Hand, Foot and Mouth. If your child has never had this, count your blessings. He was absolutley miserable and so were Donnie and I for about a week. I had him at the Dr on a Friday for his 9 month check up and two days later he woke up with a rash all over him. He cried, I cried...it was horrible for everyone. On Monday we took him back to the Dr and that's when he found the blisters inside his mouth and possibly in his throat. He got blisters around the outside of his mouth (but we thought that was from drooling) but he never got them on his feet or hands. But he did have a couple on his legs. The really sad thing is they can't do anything for it. All we could do was give him Ibuprofen regularly and spray his mouth with a numbing agent like Chloraseptic. That really seemed to help. Thank goodness that's overwith. But he did give it to his girlfriend Kelsey. I thought they may break up over that but they're still together. But other than the bout with hand, foot and mouth everyone has been great. Maddox is finally crawling on all fours and let me tell you...he can move! He is so much fun now and I'm loving every second of it. Also, every chance we get, we hit the lake. I was worried that Maddox wouldn't like it but turns out he loves it. The life jacket is less than comfy but he tolerates it very well. We get him suited up, then on go the shades (which he likes) and it's down the river we go. Today we hit Blue Springs after church for a great lunch and Maddox flirted with every waitress that walked by and they flirted right back. He was definitely the entertainer and center of attention there today. Well, I guess I've rambled on long enough. Hopefully I can get back on track and keep the posts coming.

Maddox just chillin in the grass

I think this was Memorial Day weekend on the lake

Spring is here!!

Look at that hair just blowing in the wind! This stuff looks cool!

He's so rotten :)

Maddox stuck under his pack & play.

Waking up from a nap.

Finally some much welcomed warm, spring weather.
This is one of my favorite times of year with the signs of new life all around outside. This great weather has given me several opportunities to get out and get some exercise while strolling Maddox around the neighborhood. He has it made and doesn't even know it...sitting back in his stroller kicking his little bare feet and just taking it all in; what a life! This past Sunday was just BEAUTIFUL so we thought we would take Maxx outside and see how he reacted to being in the grass...he loved it so much he was pulling the grass up and stuffing it into his mouth YUCK! No, I didn't let him eat it...but I did have to move fast. He crawled all around the yard like it was no big deal. Yes, I said he crawled. Well, I call him my little inch worm. He pulls himself around with his arms and then pulls both knees up under him. So, he's now very mobile. He was crawling around the other day and crawled completely out of his pants! It was hilarious. Donnie happened to be there to get it on video so as soon as I figure out how to post a video, I'll get it on here. Also, this week we have finally had to take the bassinet part out of his pack & play...he was getting up on his knees and hanging onto the side so we figured we better do that before he falls out in the floor. I'm not so sure that he won't be walking before too long. He's got great balance and last night he pulled himself up to his feet on the couch. Things are just moving way too fast...LOL. Anyway, this is what's been going on at our house the past couple of weeks.
We would like to wish Eli and Noah an early HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY!! I can't believe these little babies have been with us for an entire year...my how time flies.

Maddox trying to blow bubbles.

Terrible pic of mom...please just look at the baby...LOL

Ok Amanda, here is your new post...LOL

I cannot believe how little time I have now. It seems the older Maddox gets the less "free" time I have and I've been told that it never gets any better. I even have a 3 day weekend now and I thought I would be able to get some rest...Yeah Right!! But, that's life with a six month old. We had our first scare this past Friday with Maddox...he had a cold for about a week and we had already taken him to the Dr and got him started on antibiotics for an ear infection and cough. Well, his cough kept getting worse and his chest was really congested so back to the Dr we went and they sent him for X rays because they said he could have pneumonia. I was horrified...but turns out he didn't have it. He did have bronchitis and he was sent home with a breathing machine and steroids. Today he sounds MUCH better and he's back to his rotten self.

Anyway, we have been taking swimming lessons with Noah and it's been lots of fun. I thought Maddox would do ok and I was right...he loves it! Good thing because I think it would break Donnie's heart if Maddox didn't like the water. The instructor is so great and she had the boys going under water on the first day. That went well, then at the next lesson, we had to let them go under and wait 3 seconds before we could reach down to get them...talk about some nervous moms! But both boys did what they were supposed to and they started making their way back to the surface. The boys did great and they never made a peep. We loved it so much that we signed up for another month. So I have added some pics of them swimming. They look so tiny in that big pool!

Maggie is 1!!!

Last Saturday was my niece, Maggie's first birthday (as well as Donnie's). I cannot believe she's a year old already. We had her party in the play area at McDonald's and all the kids had a blast playing in the tower and sliding down the slide...even a couple of the big kids (me and my sister) made an attempt at the tower/ slide and were successful but we were both really winded when we finally reached the bottom. We both learned a lesson...leave that stuff to the real kids...LOL But she received a lot of great gifts and the party was a huge hit. Anyway, I had to post some of her party pics...HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAGGIE!

Maddox wearing his mostly pink birthday party hat!! Maggie thoroughly enjoying her cake...yummy!

The cousins...and Maddox is still wearing that pink hat!!

Miss Maggie...such a cutie :)

Awesome Birthday cake. Yes, it tasted as good or better than it looked!

Last pics of 2008

He's such a funny baby!
He looks like such a little boy there instead of my little baby!

Maddox is trying to decide which sport he will take up...hopefully it will be Basketball. (mom thinks it is a little more safe than football)

Miss Maggie having her Christmas dinner...not sure what it is/was but she was sure excited about it!

Maddox all wrapped up at the Christmas parade...Brrr!

Hey everyone! I can't believe it's been well over a month since I posted last. Maddox and work are really keeping me busy.
Anyway my little guy is growing like a weed. He will be 5 months old on 1/11/09...time is passing by so quickly.
We had a bittersweet Christmas this year. Bitter because my step- grandmother passed away on 12/23 but sweet because we had two new additions to our families. Maggie and Maddox had a blast checking out all their great Christmas gifts but I know next year will be really exciting because both of them will be mobile and into everything. I'm so thankful for them both. Well, I guess I'm a horrible mother...I didn't take ANY pictures with my camera for Christmas!! I've had to rely on everyone else's pics, so I don't have any to post. But I hope you enjoyed the few snap shots that I did have.
As some of you know, I have a brother in the Air Force and on 1/2/09 he left for another tour in Afghanistan for 6 months. I'd like to ask that you keep his family in your prayers that they remain strong while he's away and please pray for Scott's safe return in July.
HAPPY 2009!!!

I'd like to wish everyone a HAPPY 2009!!!
